In June 2018, Sean joined Massey Trucks Engineering as a Sales Administrator. Coming to us from a similar industry, Sean brought a wealth of knowledge and experience with him.
We wanted to know more about Sean’s time at Massey so far and what his job entails.
Sean, what does your day-to-day look like as a Sales Administrator?
My job requires me to deal with putting trucks into production and scheduling builds, looking after and processing staff hours, holidays and requests. I work as part of a team of two, but a lot of the work I do on my own. Being a Sales Administrator requires me to keep excellent time, being able to prioritise workload and work to sometimes very strict deadlines.
What have you learnt since being at Massey?
Since working at Massey, I have been first aid trained, which is important when working in a live environment. I have also learned a lot about truck bodies! Previously working for a dealership meant I knew quite a bit about truck chassis and the various makes and models of different trucks, but this job has been a welcome challenge getting to know the different body aspects and terminology and seeing how they are built.
What are your future career ambitions?
Over the next 12 months I hope to build on my knowledge of the bodies themselves and the different components, auxiliary items and brands, as well as the customers and their vocations. Once I have a better understanding, I can help with quoting orders.
